We are seeking a skilled and experienced Civil Litigation Attorney to join our team.

As a Civil Litigation Attorney at our firm, you will handle a diverse caseload involving insurance defense, employment law matters, and general civil litigation. The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of experience in these areas and a strong commitment to providing high-quality legal services. This position offers the opportunity to work in a collaborative environment while handling complex and varied litigation matters.

Responsibilities:

• Represent clients in civil litigation cases, including insurance defense, employment and labor disputes, and general litigation matters.
• Manage all phases of litigation, from pre-litigation strategy and investigation through trial and appeal.
• Draft and file pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and other litigation documents.
• Advise clients on litigation strategies and legal risks.
• Conduct legal research and analysis to support case development.
• Negotiate settlements and work with opposing counsel to resolve disputes efficiently.
• Appear in court for hearings, depositions, and trials.
• Collaborate with colleagues and clients to develop effective case strategies.
• Stay current on developments in civil litigation, including changes in law, legal precedents, and procedural rules in Michigan.

Qualifications:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
• Active and in good standing with the Michigan State Bar.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in civil litigation, with a focus on insurance defense, employment and labor law, and general litigation.
• Strong understanding of Michigan civil procedure and state and federal laws governing insurance defense, employment law, and general litigation matters.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to manage a diverse caseload and meet deadlines.
• Experience handling depositions, mediations, and court appearances.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
• Client-focused with a commitment to delivering high-quality legal services.
